How to make Aloo Ka Halwa?

Aloo Ka Halwa? You might be thinking of can we make halwa with potatoes as well. Well, "Yes" we can make delicious aloo ka halwa in a very short period of time. Sometimes during fast, we feel to have some sweets but all the sweets are not recommended to eat in fast. So, I thought to share this Aloo Ka Halwa recipe with you all.

Aloo Ka Halwa is a popular and delicious dessert and is usually prepared for the festive season of Navratri. You can also find more fasting recipes on our blog.

Aloo ka halwa can be made with very few ingredients. Let's have a look.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:-

Boiled Potatoes (Peeled) - 5 (Medium sized)
Powdered Sugar- 4 tbsp (1/3 cup)
Cashew nuts- 8 to 10
Raisins- 1 tbsp
Almonds- 1 tbsp
Cardamon powder - 1/3 tbsp
Ghee- 4tsbp

Preparation:-

1. Boil all the potatoes in a pressure cooker. Peel off the skin and mash them properly. Chop the dry fruits finely.

How to Make Aloo Ka Halwa:-

2. Turn on the flame, heat a pan on high flame and add ghee.
3. Reduce the flame to medium and add mashed potatoes.
4. Cook the potato for 10 minutes on medium flame and keep stirring.
5. Once the color slightly changes, add powdered sugar and mix it.
6. Cook it for 2-3 minutes on medium flame until sugar melts.
7. Now add cardamom powder, cashew nuts and mix it well.
8. Cook it for another 5-6 minutes on medium-high flame and keep stirring continuously.
9. Cook it till it turns light brown.
10. Now increase the flame to high and cook it for another minute until halwa turns thick in consistency (Keep stirring continuously).
11. You will see that ghee is separating from aloo ka halwa.
12. Now turn off the flame and Let it cool.
13. Take out in a bowl and garnish with dry fruits. Aloo ka halwa is ready to serve!!


Note: You can use any dry fruits of your choice. Also, you can add milk to the halwa if you want to.
